Good catch on the sign! You really don't see people carting around the actual durian fruits these days - the durian vendors will extract the edible parts for you and plastic wrap them for transport. I love the "no durian" signs - when I was in Thailand they were everywhere and at first I didn't understand ... until I found some durian at a shopping centre and wondered what that pungent smell was!
