Pretty decent recipe, just made it. I feel like its really one of those recipes for people who hate brussel sprouts though as there is so much going on that you don't taste them really. The walnuts are a great addition but I think the recipe is a bit heavy handed on the sherry and the balsamic (I didn't have aged on hand so it might be that as well). Next time I make these I'll probably cut both in half. The lower amount of liquid will also make it easier to get a nice crispy edge to the sprouts as well. For the record, I'm 26 and a male and I love vegetables. It took working a farm to table restaurant but we're out there!

I didn't use this recipe but looked at it very briefly, then made what I thought might be good and it was very flavorful and great. So make your own concoction using others' recipes. Just don't follow the recipe.

Just finished dinner. Israeli Couscous (Trader Joe's) made with chicken broth; Iadded a little lemon zest. Served with your brussels sprouts recipe. I didn't have shallots or walnuts on hand. I used toasted pine nuts instead of walnuts. DELICIOUS! Adding aged balsamic vinegar at the end made the dish perfect! Thanks for sharing!

Sounds wonderful. I do love brussel sprouts fried with bacon bits. Take each sprout apart first and they are wonderful....a la Laura Calder.

Great looking recipe - can't wait to try it!... One tiny pet peeve: when people make comments about "men" in general, I find this kind of annoying. My husband is an amazing cook and foodie. My father was a huge vegetable advocate & gardener, and my male friends all intelligent and health-conscious folks. I know it might be meant light-heartedly but reverse sexism has always ticked me off. Replace men with any other kind of group and it's not so funny anymore... Anyways, had to get that off my chest - sorry!
Love this site...
