Interestingly, the price of King crabs have fallen over the years - when we started eating them years ago, it was typically in the $25-$35 per lb range.  Now, you can find restaurants offering them for as low as $8.99/lb!  But caveat emptor, as some those low-priced places have been rumoured to (i) be dishonest about the weight of the crab or (ii) pull a switch (for a frozen crab) on the crab that was shown to the customers before cooking.
