Hi J, we really like the deep-fried garlic squid too. Very aromatic, very tender, and very good!

If memory serves, there are two beef carpaccio dishes here. One is the butter beef with lemon juice (?) (which I've never tried). The other does have butter but is served with brown vinegar and a bed of garlic and cilantro. It's sweet and salty and sour and fragrant and umami all in one.

As to the chicken wings -- I see so many people ordering the chicken wings, but I think that the deep fried squid with the same salt/pepper preparation is superior. I never order the chicken but the squid is a must when there are enough diners.

I love dried noodles! They are like a staple in a lot of Thai and Cambodian cuisine. I use to eat it at my parents place all the time and now it's nice to see a restaurant that makes it. As well as the durian dessert! ....brings back good memories...

Thanks!

Hi KimHo, I had the butter beef once - it's basically thinly sliced carpaccio drenched in melted butter and lemon juice. We ordered it only once and never ordered it again. As a beef lover, I love carpaccio but for some reason, I didn't think Phnom Penh's is as good as the ones I tried at Italian restaurants.

My mom thinks her pasta in black bean sauce tastes delicious! :) She insisted (more like forced) all of us to finish the last drop in the bowl.

Phnom Penh... I heard about this place so many times and I will have to find the time to go there! Now, I have a question for all of you: I heard one of the must-order dishes is the butter beef. Is that still in the menu?

Christina, that's a really interesting story! Now, as for your ordeal with pasta and bean sauce, out of curiosity, did your mother actually tried the pasta in bean sauce? What was her opinion of it?

Hey Ben! We had a really good time too. I'm very happy that you like the food. :-)

Let's go out again soon. I remember you said you want to try this place called Chili something? We can go there or you can pick something that you like.

Hi "webmaster" and ET:
Thanks for the wonderful evening yesterday. Suanne and I had a great time and the choice of food was excellent to say the least. I enjoyed reading your write up -- you sure know how to describe food. Let us know when you guys can go out again and let's explore new places ... maybe my pick next time.
