Hi Shokutsu, I think I am totally influenced by my husband's taste buds. He thinks the mild soup is bland because he likes spicy food. I have to be in the mood for spicy food so I might get the mild broth again. Did you get the beef + tendon or just the beef? Their tendons are always so tender.

I've been here once, through an invitation from a Taiwanese friend. I was amazed at how big and thick the pieces of beef brisket were at the time - a very generous portion. I had the mild soup as I wanted to get a better taste of the broth in its purest form. My pal had the spicy one, and watching him struggle and sweat with the heat (both in the spiciness and temperature) of it, I thought I had made the right decision. :) I had the thick noodles at the time, but will have to try the skinny ones, as we shared a plate of the dumplings too, and we both could not finish everything. The array of appetizers on the counter was interesting to see, but we never tried any that night. I need more education on them before asking for some.

Hi C: Well, I work just around the corner from Lao Shang Dong and loves their food. I almost always order their spicy noodles and they come in such large bowl that I never ever managed to order anything else.
